We acknowledge the peoples of the Woi wurrung and Boon wurrung language groups of eastern Kulin Nation on whose unceded lands CONCRETE is imagined, created, and exhibited.

We acknowledge the Ancestors and Elders, past and present, of the lands, waters, seas, and skies of Naarm, where our learning takes place.

We know that sovereignty was never ceded here, and we recognise that this land belongs to First Nations peoples, the rightful caretakers of Country, whose knowledge of and love for land is immeasurable.

As a new generation of students prepare to launch their professional careers, we acknowledge the urban metaphor of CONCRETE, a symbol of readiness, and at the same time, an instrument and material of modern colonisation.

We acknowledge the nuances and tensions which permeate this exhibition, our education, and design practice. We acknowledge and admire 65,000 years of art and design existing across the eastern Kulin Nations, in which we contextualise, experience, and interpret the creative activities of CONCRETE.
